CSR: Lake cleaning at Crest@Austin’s Central Park

On 2nd Aug 2025, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) held a Green Waste Vinegar (GWV) workshop at WM Senibong’s Sales Gallery, Crest@Austin. This workshop, hosted by WM Senibong, aims to instil green habits within the community while encouraging residents to use GWV to help preserve the lake and pond at Crest@Austin. The ultimate goal: a clean, crystal-clear water ecosystem that sustains vibrant Koi fish and enhances the area’s natural beauty.

The initiative brought together residents, UTM personnel, and WM Senibong employees to promote eco-friendly practices. GWV, a natural cleaning agent made from fruit and vegetable waste, not only repurposes food scraps but also improves water quality—making it ideal for restoring Crest@Austin’s lake and pond.

The initiative, which brought together residents, UTM personnel, and WM Senibong employees, culminated with the symbolic pouring of the first GWV batch into the lake, marking a united step towards a greener environment. Residents also brought GWV home as natural cleaning alternatives, while UTM researchers will continue monitoring the lake over the next few months to guide sustainable long-term water preservation.
